Guides for Brides Feature: Sharing Wedding Inspiration

I’ve just recently uploaded my new ‘Guides for Brides’ badge to my website after appearing again on their website in another fabulous real bride feature. Be sure to head over to their page and have a read – it’s full of wedding inspiration and advice for your big day!

Importance of Media Features: Connecting with Brides

But why is it important for me to be featured in these publications? Well, for one thing, it helps me to reach a wider audience and connect with more brides who are seeking the perfect hair and makeup artist for their big day. By being featured in magazines and newspapers, I can share my expertise and showcase my talents to brides who might not have otherwise discovered me.

Building Credibility: Trust through Publication Features

Additionally, being featured in publications helps to establish my credibility and build trust with potential clients. When brides see my work in print, they can see firsthand the quality of my work and the care that I put into each and every look. It’s a powerful endorsement that can make all the difference when it comes to booking a hair and makeup artist for your wedding. So if you’re on the hunt for a professional, assertive, and elegant hair and makeup artist for your wedding day, be sure to check out my work in the publications across Kent. The Wedding Industry Awards Regional Finalist

The Wedding Industry Awards Regional Finalist

I am beyond delighted to announce that I have once again made finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards for the South East of England in the Hair category.

Getting Through the Storm: A Commitment to Recognition

This year has gone by in such a blur that I almost can’t believe its October and awards season is back around yet again! This year I had promised myself that I would make the time to submit an entry for this particular awards and to also make the time to contact my brides to ask them to support me and vote for me. The Wedding Industry Awards is one of the only wedding supplier awards where it’s not just based on your images or your own submission, they actually rely on the words and scores from your real brides to ensure that everyone in the process is a real worthy winner.

I last entered a couple of years ago and was lucky enough to make it through as a regional finalist then also. That was the end of my journey for that year, but what made it totally worth it was being given access to all of the lovely things that my brides had said to get me that far!

Obtaining the Advantages: Revealing Ratings and Emotions

After the nominations have closed and the regional events have taken place you’re provided with your scores and comment from every bride that submitted a vote for you. In my opinion that in itself was worth entering for alone!

Testimonials from the Heart: Treasure Brides’ Appreciation

It was so heart warming and so very appreciated to read all of the lovely things that my brides had said about me and what they had thought of working with me for their wedding day. For the brides I work with this is their one and only wedding day and it’s so important that they make the right choice in their wedding hair and makeup artist. For me, I appreciate just how special it is to be selected as that person and even after ten years of being in the wedding industry and providing wedding hair and makeup to literally hundreds of brides – I still never get complacent about that.

I love what I do.

I love it every time someone books with me for their wedding day hair and makeup, and being with someone and helping to transform them into their dream bridal vision on the morning is a feeling like no other! I can’t wait to read all of the lovely comments that have got me through to the regional finals again this year – win or lose I honestly believe I have the best job in the world as a bridal hair stylist and makeup artist, so thank you to every single one of you that makes that possible for me!

2020 has been a strange year for brides, with lots of ups and downs, date changes, postponements and general anxiety and worry around what would ordinarily be one of the most exciting days of a girls life!

For some brides though, not even a worldwide pandemic was about to stop them marrying the love of their lives and having their dream wedding – and Emma was one of them!

Emma and David got married in August 2020 at Howfield Manor in Kent. It was a beautiful sunny day and the thought of going to an actual wedding , after a summer without hardly any, was very exciting for me!

Emma had the most beautiful blonde hair that sat around her shoulders. She had decided that she would like to wear a half up hairstyle for her wedding day with soft waves and some added detail.

Half up wedding hair has always been a popular choice. It’s classic and romantic, and having hair down and around the face can make a style look soft and natural. We created Emma’s waves using a 24mm tong and brushing them out once cooled to allow them to sit loosely around her shoulders. Her fringe, parted in the centre, framed her face and the little bit of height at the crown area gave her volume and the perfect base for her veil to be added.

I added two braids, swept around from the sides, and joined together at the back of the head. It’s so important when creating a bridal hair style to really think about the style from all angles. Often I’ll remind my brides that you’ll be getting pictures from all aspects so ensuring a style is well balanced and in proportion for an entire 360 view really is necessary – especially at an occasion such as a wedding day when you know there’s a photographer about!

Emma’s beautiful pictures were taken by Emma Midgen, a Kent based photographer. To see more of Emmas work head over to her website www.emmamigdenphotography.com

Bridal Hair and Make Up at Port Lympne, Kent

Bridal Hair and Make Up at Port Lympne, Kent

Thursday Throwback – Christina’s gorgeous wedding day took place at the beautiful Port Lympne Mansion House   in Kent .

The venue itself is breathtaking, from the murals on the walls to the stunning acres of park that surrounds the hotel.  It’s certainly not every venue that can offer your guests the chance to spend their drinks reception on safari!

Christina went for a stunning glam look. Her long hair was waved and set so she could wear it with a side accessory. One of my favourite products when creating waves is Bedhead shine spray. It’s really important to make sure that a brides hair looks amazing from any and every angle and this product gives everything you need in terms of gloss and shine – perfect for photos!

With her hair so ‘hollywood’ we needed to ensure that Christina’s make up complimented such elegance and it was so important that we really concentrated on giving her the perfect skin finish. I achieved her flalwless complexion using airbase, airbrush make up. A firm fave with my brides, this high definition make up product ensures that her look stayed put, and stayed perfect all day long. For her eyes I really wanted to enhance and play upon her natural features so using lashes and sculpting her eye shape (with a little added highlight!) I was able to give her the perfect wide eyed glamorous look.

Christinas photographer, Tony Gameiro captured some fabulous images from various points around the hotel. The photo opportunities at this venue are simply endless! From the Aspinal Suite with its decorative walls to the Moroccan Garden – Check out his blog to see even more from Christinas big day…

If you’d like to chat with me about your own wedding day hair and make up then be sure to get in touch, dates for 2020 are filling up – especially if you’re looking at a summer wedding!

Happy planning!

Elmley Nature Reserve Kent – Bridal Hair and Make Up

Elmley Nature Reserve Kent – Bridal Hair and Make Up

Thursday Throwback – Ellie’s Wedding at Elmley Nature Reserve

Erm…..where do I start?!  This wedding at Elmley Nature Reserve in Kent was all kinds of WOW. Seriously, these images are only a small small snippet of the fabulous collection from Steven at Duntons Photography which captured Ellie and Mikes day beautifully!

As a Kent bridal hair and make up artist I’ve seen some wonderful venues but this one really took my breath away. Elmley Nature reserve  really is something else. Driving down the venue is almost like driving onto a film set. The scenery is truly breathtaking and it made the perfect natural backdrop for this rustic style wedding.

I was so excited to have Ellie as a bride. Not only was she a lovely person but her hair was nothing short of AMAZING! All her own too, so no extensions were needed to help create this stunning ‘tail’ style.

A selection of wraps, twists and braid – Ellies bridal hair is definitely up there with my favourite styles from 2018! The gorgeous red colour enhanced every fold and the contrast between that and the white flowers we added made the style really come to life.

For Ellie’s bridal make up we decided to keep things natural and flawless, perfectly complimenting her theme and surroundings for the day itself. Airbrush Make up allowed me to give coverage without making her look too heavily made up. Her eyes stand out beautifully and by using a selection of warm and neutral tones we were able to really make them pop.

For the lips we used a popular nude “mehr’ by Mac which holds a slightly pink tone. A flushed complexion with added highlight ( illamasqua OMG – a firm favourite of mine! ) finished off Ellie’s bridal glow.

For the bridesmaids I used warm pink and nude tones alongside a base of airbase, airbrush make up. Airbrush is such a popular choice with my bridal parties as not only does it look flawless and photograph beautifully but it really does last all day. Ellie was lucky enough to have the perfect weather and the light, bright and glowing tones that finished the bridesmaids look really encompassed the whole feel of the authentic, natural fun of the day.

And just because I seriously couldn’t select ‘just a few’ of these fabulous images I’ve added on a few more for you to take a look at and enjoy! Thankyou so much Ellie for having me, it was a real pleasure to transform your hair into the bridal vision you had dreamt of!

If you’re reading this and you’re looking for a bridal hair and make up artist and would like to discuss your ideas for your own wedding then please do get in touch

I look forward to hearing from you
